Town Park
The design of the Town Park has been developed with input from Bolsover Council.
The Town Park includes:
- A series of community spaces, which include seating, formal landscaping and feature tree planting. These community spaces are located at key junctions within the parks foot and cycleway network
- Planted spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors, these spaces are denoted as ‘The Orchard’ and ‘The Birch Copse’.
- A Local Equipped Area of Play (LEAP), which is situated within the centre of the park at the junction of key foot/cycleways.
- A car parking area which features tree planting and an adjacent community space. The car park is also well connected to a variety of foot/cycle routes within the park.
- A series of spaces have been left clear for events and informal recreational activities, the largest of these designated spaces is ‘The Lawn’.
- A kickabout area has been provided.
- A wetland area for habitat creation and the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
- Existing hedges have been preserved where possible and integrated within the Town Park’s design.
- Various footpaths/cycleways and illustrative crossings have been designed along the park’s perimeter.
- A wide array of tree planting is proposed along avenues and within areas of public open space across the park.
